November Edition - The 72 Show with Portsmouth Legend Alan Knight
Anthony Kendrick and Nick Davie are back for the new-look monthly 72 Show. We are joined by Portsmouth legend Alan Knight, who played for the club across four decades.
Wolves top the Championship after their win against Norwich, with four wins out of five and are joined in the automatic promotion by Cardiff. Leeds and Middlesbrough were both expected to be in the automatic promotion candidates but both have struggled, with them sitting just outside the playoff places. Leeds in particular have shown poor form with five losses out of six. At the bottom of the league, we look at Sunderland who have sacked Simon Grayson, along with under-pressure managers Leonid Slutsky and Jaap Stam.
We focus on Portsmouth in League One, who sit mid-table and have done well under Kenny Jackett. The Eisners takeover is complete and they look to be making a solid investment, with Alan Knight currently an ambassador. Elsewhere, Shrewsbury have seen their unbeaten run ended by Peterborough thanks to a superb James Maddison long range strike. We saw Gillingham and Northampton pick up wins but remain in the relegation zone, and Bury manager Lee Clark sacked.
In League Two, we look at Notts County's rise to the top of League Two following a 3-0 win against Newport. Lincoln City have impressed, sitting just outside the playoffs and Forest Green Rovers have won their last three games to move out the relegation zone. We also contrast this to Barnet, winless in 10 and Mansfield, who were many people's pick to go up but have gone on a poor run. We finish by discussing the EFL Cup with Bristol City making the Quarter Finals and the FA Cup 1st round. The televised games are Hyde vs MK Dons and Chorley vs Fleetwood
