Shane Can't Complain About England (but Can About Mark Hughes)
Anthony Kendrick is joined by Shane Lees and Peter Prickett.
We open the show by hearing Shane's thoughts on Mark Hughes coming in as Southampton manager on a short term deal until the end of the season. Is there a short or long term strategy?
We discuss England, who impressed in their two friendlies against Italy and Holland. Jesse Lingard in particular impressed, as we discuss whether he gets into the side ahead of Dele Alli. We also discuss the decisions made by Southgate in terms of playing style, and in moving Kyle Walker to a right-sided centre back.
We move on to our battle of the XIs. Hero won the previous week, so selected a Europe vs South America theme, with all players needing to be in World Cup qualifying teams. This goes down to a Twitter poll to determine the winner.
We finish the show with a review of some of the other major nations preparations. Brazil inflicted Germany's first loss since Euro 2016 with a 1-0 victory, in a game which clearly meant more to the Brazilians. We also review Spain's demoliton of Argentina, France's attacking options and whether Belgium can surprise a few.
Thanks for listening!
