The 72 Show - Episode 2.22 (with George Didcote)
The 72 Show is back for another episode despite the International Break. Anthony Kendrick and Nick Davie are joined by Cheltenham fan and writer George Didcote.
We discuss a few stories which have come from the Championship, including Gary Rowett and Neil Warnock suggesting that Derby and QPR can make the playoffs. Are this an unrealistic target, or is the playoff race more open than we think it is? We also discuss the breaking news that Alan Judge has signed a new contract with Brentford, and get George's views on the continuing race at the top of the table.
With no football in the Championship, we discuss Leagues One and Two. In League One, Coventry have won their last two games and struggling Swindon impressively beat Millwall. Off the pitch, Tim Sherwood has got a two-match stadium ban for abusing an official, swearing numerous times. We also look at the relegation battle in League Two with Leyton Orient and Newport in the drop zone, but could they stay up at the expense of one of the teams hovering just above?
We also discuss Cheltenham Town in detail, as George's supported club. We discuss their time in the National League last season and winning promotion, along with their recent form which has seen them lose their last four games. Also wishing manager Gary Johnson well with his heart operation, which means that Russell Milton has taken charge.
