The 72 Show - Episode 2.7 (with Gary Alexander)
Anthony Kendrick and Nick Davie are joined by current Greenwich Town manager Gary Alexander. In this show we discuss the FA Cup First Round in detail.
We discuss the Championship News including wins for the top two, Newcastle and Brighton as they appear to open up a gap over third place. There were also good wins for Leeds and Derby, while Norwich suffered their third loss in a row. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was sacked as QPR manager with his side 17th, with his side only winning two in their last ten games. Was this the right decision?
We interview Gary Alexander, first discussing his early days in the West Ham academy. Following this he moved to Leyton Orient with success, and we talk about his wonder goal for Millwall. We discuss how he moved into managment with Greenwich Borough.
Following this, we cover all of the big stories from the First Round of the FA Cup. This includes the disallowed Westfields goal after the final whistle, the Macclesfield side who were the only non-league team to win against a FL72 side and Harry Chapman's superb hat trick in a 6-0 Sheffield United win. We look at the draw which has thrown up some great games, including Bolton vs Sheffield United and Woking vs Accrington Stanley.
A number of games will go to replays, to be played on 15th November, and the Second Round of the FA Cup will take place over the first weekend in December.
