The 72 Show - Episode 3.05 (with Craig Hinton)
Our lead story this week is the news that Sky Sports have agreed an improved deal for £600m over five years. This will allow them to cover all midweek games, with any games not shown by Sky allowed to be streamed on the club websites. We discuss whether this is good for the Football League, and whether this may cause a decline in attendances.
In our interview with Craig, we discuss his current coaching role in the FA along with his thoughts on a few of his former clubs. We ask whether Birmingham City can turn things around under Harry Redknapp, if Northampton Town unfairly sacked Justin Edinburgh too soon and Kidderminster Harriers, who have an FA Cup game live on the BBC this weekend.
In our Football League review, we discuss Cardiff suffering their first loss of the season, losing 3-0 to Preston North End. Leeds go top of the Championship with a 2-0 victory over Birmingham with yet another goal for Saiz. The big stories from League One with big wins for Rotherham and Wigan along with Rochdale scoring twice in injury time to beat Doncaster, and Hasselbaink winning his first two games at Northampton Town. In League Two, Paul Tisdale finally won his first manager of the month award and Lincoln's impressive start to the season continued with a win over Forest Green Rovers.
